Introduction

Hello! I’m Christina, and I am currently the Director of Institutional Assessment, Accreditation, and Compliance at Alvernia University. Prior to this role, I worked as an academic librarian and library director for more than 10 years; most of that time was spent working in health sciences libraries. I’m also an adjunct faculty member, and I have taught college-level developmental composition, freshman composition, advanced composition, and library science courses in person and online with both traditional age and adult learners. Although not required in my staff and adjunct roles, I have researched, published, and presented on a number of library and education topics. In addition to higher education experience, I have over a decade of freelance professional writing, editing, and public relations experience. Please take some time and explore my professional website to learn more about my leadership and teaching experience, my research and scholarly publishing, and my professional writing experience. Thanks for stopping by my site and taking the time to learn a bit about me.

Education

I am currently completing a PhD Strategic Leadership and Administrative Studies from Marywood University. I have the following degrees: Master of Arts Professional and Digital Media Writing from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania; Master of Library and Information Science from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey; Bachelor of Arts English/Professional Writing with a minor in public relations from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania; and a Bachelor of Arts Speech Communication with minors in Spanish and political science from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

Research Interests

My primary library research areas of interest have been ethical health communication (including health journalism), media literacy in the misinformation and disinformation (“fake news” and “post-truth”) era, library science education innovation, and librarians and gender stereotypes. I am expanding my research into leadership, particularly moral injury of middle-level leaders in higher education and trauma-informed leadership.
